The Max-Delbrück-Centrum (MDC) in Berlin-Buch is looking for a
Postdoctoral Research Assistant for Macromolecular Structure and
Interaction to support the operation of the MX beamlines located at the
BESSY II storage ring (headed by Dr. Uwe Müller, BESSY/HZB) and to
conduct research at the MDC under the guidance of Dr. Manfred S. Weiss
(BESSY/HZB) and Prof. Dr. Udo Heinemann (MDC). BESSY/HZB collaborates
with the MDC in Berlin-Buch in operating three state-of-the-art
experimental stations for bio-macromolecular crystallography at one of
the world’s most modern synchrotron radiation sources for VUV and soft
X-rays.

The successful candidate will support MX beamline users in data
collection and analysis, participate in the development, implementation
and commissioning of MX beamline instrumentation, and pursue his/her own
research in the fields of Macromolecular Structure and Interaction.
===Requirements:===
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in either biological, chemical or physical
sciences and have a strong background in all aspects of
bio-macromolecular crystallography, in particular in the use of the
relevant computer programs. The position also requires the documented
ability to conduct independent research as well as excellent
communication and interpersonal skills.
===Salary:===
The salary will be based on German Federal TVÖD E13.
===Entry:===
The position is available immediately.
===Limitation:===
We are initially offering a three-year contract with the possibility of
an extension.
